While working at a wilderness therapy program for a summer, one thing I noticed, the kids who were new had the most trouble asking for help…we had group gear and they felt the need to carry it all…which would eventually cause more injuries down the trail…which would slow down the whole group. The kids further along in the program were asking for help…and more comfortable at voicing their needs. I was one of those kids once, too, the new kid who wanted to do it all by myself. I know what it’s like to not want to feel like a burden, or to be seen as weak…and even though this is an ongoing practice I have to remind myself constantly, the strongest thing you can do is ask for support. Wear this bracelet to remind you to reach out.
