”Elwha River”

There’s a powerful feeling of connection stepping onto the wilderness floor of the Pacific Northwest as a protectiveness from the trees towers over you, the smell of cedar envelops you, and the distant swooshing of the river flows through your ears.  Everything feels alive, even the rotting trees that are blooming with new life, and the soft ground beneath your feet feels like stepping onto the belly of a sleeping bear.  The whole forest feels connected, and through mycelium, the tiny microorganisms, and all the forest angels - also known as bugs - you become part of this massive beautiful organism as your breath, microbes, and cells become interlaced with theirs as you’re weaved into the trees, dirt, rivers, and wildlife.

Some believe we all belong to one giant consciousness, and through the magic of mycelium we can tap into this magnificent warmth and connection.  Mycelia is like the thread that weaves our spirits all together.  Made in the nurturing embrace of the peninsula, wear this bracelet to remind you how we are all a necessary part in this churning wheel of life, pulling and being pushed along together, feeding and being replenished by one another, never being left behind.  In the Pacific Northwest, nothing ever dies…but nourishes, changes, and transforms into more and more life!

Named after The Elwha River which runs through the Washington Peninsula, feeding the forest, housing an array of creatures including the coveted Chinook or “King” salmon, and connecting all the woodland creatures to the land - nourishing all the little beating hearts of the woods, the Elwha provides so much just by staying constant and going with the flow.

Made with various fiber threads, including Alpaca and Merino wool, with a tiny turquoise, opal, and malachite stone, on waxed linen cord using a sliding knot closure.

*This item only includes the single bracelet found in the first photo. Any other bracelets displayed along with it are either available in the shop or have already been sold.
