The Life of Wind

I could sit here forever watching the wind flirt with my silk scarf I brought home from Thailand years ago.  I use it to block the sun but it’s become more than that.  A sail to catch the wind.  The way it waves and flickers gives her a voice…a language and personality - a way to see and read her and feel her mood.  Sometimes she’s peaceful…sometimes she’s fierce...sometimes she’s gone.  She brings my home to life, breathes air into it, lifts my spirit when the corners of the scarf twirl and dance so wildly and free, sometimes even getting the ends of my hair to join leading me in for a spin.  It’s impossible to feel alone when she’s moving so vivaciously.  Her energy fills the room…she fills the world.  She demands attention and is impossible to ignore.  It’s through the wins the Earth sends all her messages, where all her words come whispering out or raging through.  It’s the language of the universe communicating and connecting with us all.  We need to listen to the wind.  We all need to listen.  All the other living things on Earth do.
