A New Direction

I’ve sold handmade bracelets for almost 9 years and have never signed up for a live market.  I’ve always sold them online, or occasionally would cross paths with someone on the road who wanted to buy one off me.  The idea has always crossed my mind, but I am not a planner when I’m on the road, and making commitments to sign up for and attend markets was not something I ever wanted to do before.  But now, as I’m trying to move away from social media and try something new, attending markets is sounding really fun!  And what better way to try it for the first time but at a van gathering!

It just so happens that Descend on Bend, a well known van gathering outside Bend, Oregon is having their event this weekend.  Their sign up to be a vendor was super simple - no application and seems to be super laid back!  I jumped on the opportunity, despite not having any inventory ready.  These last couple days, I parked at Fort Worden Beach in Port Townsend and made bracelets till I couldn’t feel my fingers.  I don’t have that many, don’t even have a sign, got eyebrows growing all over my face, can’t remember the last time I looked in a mirror, and have no idea what I’m doing.  But gotta start somewhere!

No cell service this weekend.  Have a good one.  See y’all next week.

Making bracelets at Fort Worden from 6:30a - 6p on Tuesday, 6:30a till my fingers fell off.
